Hello!  I am very excited about all the wonderful artwork the students at Kempsville Meadows are learning about and creating!

First graders are currently learning about texture and they are about to take a journey to Africa with Henri Rousseau!  Second graders are investigating craft art forms of the Native American Indians.  Thrird graders are learning about African Adinkra Designs and printmaking, while the fourth grades are creating a landscape based on the works of Regionalist artists, such as Grant Wood and Thomas Moran.  Finally, fifth graders are currently studying Japanese Gyotaku Prints and creating their own fish prints and under the sea Wyland compositions!  We are keeping VERY busy in Room 401!

During the month of January, Kempsville Meadows has three-dimensional works on display at the VBCPS Administration Building.  Also, during the month of  February, the VBCPS will have a display at the Norfolk International Airport.

I am always interested in having a parent or a grandparent donate one or two hours a week to help mount and display the beautiful works of art our KMES students!  Please call or e-mail me if you are interested in helping out!
