Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and to introduce you to the physical education staff here at Kempsville Meadows Elementary.  I would also like to make you familiar with our expectations for your child this year .

My name is Ms.Klucz and I am the physical education specialist at Kempsville Meadows.  Mrs. Rimarski, Ms. Vagts and Mrs. Perkins are the assistants.  They too are responsible for instructing your child in daily physical education skills which I have designed for them to teach.  Your child will work with a different physical education staff member each week as we progress through the many skill themes.

Your child is scheduled for 40 minutes of physical education class daily.  This is not a recess period but an instructional class.  This is why it is so important that your child participate daily so that they may follow the progression of the skill.

Students should wear tennis shoes or sneakers to physical education class.  Students wearing dresses or skirts should wear shorts, tights or a body suit under their clothes so that they  may participate in all activities.  Please dress your child appropriately for outside activities, especially when the weather becomes cool.  All hats, jackets and sweaters should have your child’s name in them.  This will assist us in helping your child find any lost or misplaced item.

If your child has a condition, which limits his or her participation, please make sure it is indicated on the student’s health card.  A parent’s written note is accepted for three consecutive days for a student who needs to be excused due to an illness or injury.  A doctor’s note is necessary if the time missed is extended longer than three days.

If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at school.  Once again, on behalf of the entire physical education staff, I am looking forward to a great year here at Kempsville Meadows.

Sincerely,

Ms. Klucz
